In the area
Boscastle is a picturesque fishing village, ideally situated for walking the magnificent south west coast path and exploring the many treasures of Cornwall.
Eat
Enjoy a choice of good restaurants and pubs in Boscastle, all within walking distance of The Old Parsonage. For a special occasion perhaps book one of North Cornwall's Michelin starred restaurants or the internationally known Rick Stein Seafood restaurant in Padstow.
Walk
Walk straight from the house onto the south west coast path. Take in the beautiful wooded valley and hidden churches. Boscastle is at the centre of one of England's finest coastlines and Bodmin Moor is a short drive or bus journey. We will lend you OS Maps and guide books. Walking boots are an asset, but not usually essential in summer.
Swim, surf, ride
Swim and/or surf on a variety of local beaches which are within 15 minutes drive or an hour's walk. Our favourites are Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven, both with good facilities including surf hire shops. Bossiney Cove and Strangles Bay are just two of the completely wild and unspoiled beaches near here. Good horse-riding is available especially on Bodmin Moor.
Visit
Visit Tintagel Castle, Port Isaac (home of TV's 'Doc Martin'), Lanhydrock House (where Rosamunde Pilcher's 'Cliffs of Love' - 'Klippen der Liebe' - was filmed) and Padstow. Enjoy The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Relax
Or just chill out. We have a selection of dvds, books and games. Relax in the conservatory or garden, or take one of our camp chairs out onto the cliff tops. There are comfortable armchairs in all rooms, and staying in bed all day is permitted!
